I am late with my newsletter this month for 2 reasons, or rather 1 valid reason, and 1 excuse. The terrible humidity is hard on overweight persons like me. It just drains your energy.

More importantly, I spent part of July reading up on the field of Social Networking, also known as Web 2. I am a bit behind and have not yet started using these systems. I really am undecided as to which I should go for first, MySpace, You Tube, or Squidoo or whatever. To make the decision harder, this past 2 weeks saw lots of fireworks on these web sites. Lots of sites have been deleted, such as many thousands of porn pages on MySpace, if I remember correctly.

You know how you could help me, just hit reply to this email, and give my your opinion as to which sites I should consider doing first, and which are potentially more useful (read that as profitable).

5 Ways To Generate Traffic at No Cost

To start a business, offline or online, requires some capital investment. After your original one time costs for a domain name, and a year's hosting, what else do you need to spend money on.

You might find it wise to buy a few ebooks to learn how to set up your online business. And of course you'll discover tons of ebooks you can acquire at no cost at all.

Perhaps the most important thing you need to do, to have any chance at success, is to generate traffic. So you're short of funds, and can't spare any to buy traffic to your web site. All is not lost, as there are ways to get traffic at no cost at all. All you need is the proper mindset and a lot of energy, drive and perseverance to do the work and research needed to generate more traffic for your site.

Sounds great to have more traffic for your site without spending a dime. Now many sites offer informative tips on how to generate traffic using only free methods. Even though it's possible, you must realize it will take more time if you can't pay for any ads. You get better chances of getting traffic faster by paying for your ads, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.

1 - Your most important tactic is making use of newsletters. Provide people interesting articles and email it to your subscribers. This will bring more people to sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more traffic will grow.

2 - Make use of online forums. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the consumer profile that you are appealing to. You can discuss lots of things about the niche that you are presently marketing in. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into so you can be prepared.

By selecting the appropriate online communities and forums that match your web site, you can build a reputation for yourself as an expert for your business. Show them what you're made of and wow them with your expertise.

3 - Another great idea is exchanging links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. A link exchange, benefits both sites. The search engines look favorably at this, more so if your incoming link has a Page Rank of 3 or higher.

4 - Write articles for the purpose of submitting them to article submission sites. They should demand the attention of people that have interest in your niche. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Include a link and a brief description of your business at the end of the article in what is called the Resource Box or the Bio Box. These links back to your web site, bring you important traffic, but better still, help increase your page rank. This means you will get placed higher up in the Search Results.

5 - Write good content for your site. Search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that content should be done by a professional writer. You could do your own but you have to make content for your site that is useful information. Great quality here is mandatory. Internet users must use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching to achieve your search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.
