How To Build Trust While At the Same Time Giving People What They Want!
If there was ever a question to ask a crystal ball it would be "how can I build trust and give the people what they want..." That burning question applies to
EVERY ebusiness out there and the good news is, you don't need a crystal ball to get the answer.
People are surfing the Internet for information. The kind of information that helps them make a more informed buying decision. So...the way to build trust
and to give people what they want is to...
Provide rock solid CONTENT as it relates to your ebusiness so that it builds trust and of course it is giving the people what they want.
So why is Content so important. From the beginning of the Internet, people have looked for Information, read it, skimmed it, devoured it and actually used it. In effect, the Net has always been about getting and giving information. Remember a few years ago, when one of the most significant trends was to have news items delivered direct to your desktop. It was huge.
The formats have changed since, but information gathering is still the predominant purpose for surfing the Net. Today, doing business online has become the dominant force of Internet users that was not foreseen in the early days.
Let us consider now how many different types of web sites comprise the Net. In other words, how many main categories are there. There are millions of web sites, all different from each other, but really only a few classes of web sites.
Web sites offering free information. This could be articles you read online, or Reports and E-Books that you download to your PC. Once you have it, you read it offline, in other words, right on your PC but not while connected to the Net. Some people print them out, and read them away from their computer.
Web sites offering information that you pay for. The same options as above still apply. But now you also have physical products that are delivered to you. These can be information products in the form of CD roms, videos, printed books, and more.
Web sites offering "hard goods" including everything that is available in your department stores, discount shops selling everything from clothing to furniture.
Web sites for travel agents, all types of transportation, and so on. Autos are sold on the Net. Search prorams that find out the best prices for you.
Well we could go on and on, but let's get to the point that needs to emphasized here. With over 16 million web sites on the Net, how do people find you. It's not as if you can take a walk downtown or to the mall, and just stroll and window shop. Not with over 16 million sites.
To find what you want, you must Search for it. For the Search Engines to find you, they must first identify you to their Search databases. For the Search engines to "see" you, to know you exist, you must provide something useful on your site. Otherwise, the Search engines will ignore you.
CONTENT is what they look for. That is what makes a web site interesting. Web sites that are strictly catalogs of goods for sale, do not appeal to the search engines. They just don't care and may not list you for free. So how come Walmart and others are there. Good question. The big names have traffic because the names are legends in the offline world.
If you have a small site selling an item sold by Walmart or The Gap, then the Search may result in those names, not yours.
What about Web sites that sell Information products. Those may be the ones that benefit most from interesting Content. Mini-sites with only 1 to 5 pages have a chance of being found because they usually contain a lot of descriptive information that is usually educational.
Those sites with the greatest advantage are those that contain from 15 to 25 pages of relevant articles. If more than 25, wow...the sky's the limit, as long as they are not just advertsements for your products. They must contain informative content.
Now the Search engines will love you!
Now that the Search boys have you, you will get the Traffic. With the traffic coming in, it follows that you should get sales, and profits at the cash register.
Possibly the most extensive E-Book on the subject of Content and all the consequences, is Make-Your-Site-Sell from the good people of SiteSell.com. Other marketers would sell this product for 4 times what it sells for. But Ken Evoy, President of SiteSell.com is fanatical about OVER-Delivering. You'll have a hard time believing how low the price is for such a valuable work. There are actually 4 ebooks in the package. The main volume MYSS alone is over 800 pages.
The only way to really appreciate how much you can learn from MYSS, is to go over there and see for your self. Just click on this link and get ready to be overwhelmed.
