But What If I CANT WRITE
Tell me really, What If I CAN'T WRITE !!
I get the "but I can't write" or "oh no, not me, I'm not a writer" a lot when I explain to clients just how important good content is to their website. I have seen people who would spend countless time avoiding the "writing thing" by searching out freelance writers, spending many dollars on "programs" and "software" that were the latest thing to write articles ... and of course only to find that at the
end of the day all they really have done is wasted huge amounts of time. If they had taken that same time and just written an article themselves ... well heck they would have had at least 3-4 articles written in that time!
I have no clue where the idea came from that you have to write some prize winning article that would bring tears to the eyes of the likes of a Robert Frost. I mean if your project required that sort of style then ok, I get it. When people search, they are looking for information, the kind of
information that will help them make a more informed buying decision, help them with a problem, provide them with tips and more importantly HELP. Sure, yes you need to ensure that your article makes sense and that it is written well, but for general articles that are information based ... just get to the facts!
Think back to the times in school when you had to write reports and essays. Back then you couldn't write either (hey, I know because I was there too!!). So, when you had to write an essay or do a project on I don't know, Africa or the effects of the glaciers on the planet ... how did you write it?
We did our research, read tons of stuff and when it came down to writing we quoted, we footnoted, we took what we read and put it into our own words...right??
It's not that we can't write... it's just that we got lazy and figured the path of least resistence was to BUY articles or use the free stuff that was floating around the internet. In its day it was effective but like everything else, even this writing gig has changed to the point where you really need to sit and get the knowledge that is in your head and put it down.
We are all "experts" at what we do. If you are a painter, you are an expert. If I were to ask a painter what 10 things should you do before you even think about putting a roller to a wall, I am sure he could rattle them off. So, instead of telling me verbally, just write a simple intro paragraph and list the 10 points. BINGO...you now have an article!
If you are a dog groomer and I asked you for 7 tips to keep Fido's fur healthy, that would be only TOO EASY to tell me ... ok, so how hard is it to write those tips out and again you now have an article!!
If you are an affiliate marketer and I asked you to give me the tips is seeking out a good affiliate program, you would say?? Exactly, so instead of rattling those tips off verbally, write them down and YOU TOO have an article!
See, it is NOT rocket science here! All you need is to sit and figure out, based on your profession what do people need to know. Ummm, my favourite ... what to look for when
contracting a marketing coach. Do's and Dont's of buying a car .... the list goes on and on.
All you need to do is get ALL that FANTASTIC knowledge that is inside your head and put it down in an article or better yet...articles. Get rid of the software programs, free articles that have been used to death, invest that time, energy and money where it belongs ... in you!
Now there are several formats for writing that are quite easy to adapt and actually make your own. There is the tip list (very easy), how to, personal experiences and of course the list goes on. There is an excellent resource that doesn't cost a fortune which will give you the different formats of articles and will even take you by the hand and help you write your article headlines and even show you how to make use of keywords that will help with your rankings (now show of hands, who couldn't use a little help there??). This resource is an easy read ... but the key is YOU NEED TO READ IT to work it.
"You CAN Write Articles" takes you through the paces of writing quick and easy articles. I highly recommend this because it does help you but also takes things a little
further and shows you why and how to use keywords as well.
Times are changing and this report certainly takes change in the right direction when it comes to writing. This report is seven dollars and is well worth it. However, it is only worth it if you READ IT. If all it does is sit on your hard
drive, then of course all you have done is spent seven dollars but haven't used it to its full potential to help you make much more. To read more about it Click Here
YOU don't need to be a Robert Frost! You just need to sit down and put your thoughts to paper - ok, ok to computer screen, the knowledge that you have inside you that you can so readily rattle off verbally. Do just one or two articles and I am sure you won't say you CAN'T WRITE. The first step to getting there is this report and then just sit down and make a tips list and go from there.
Take the steps and get a jump on those who still believe they can't. Remember whether you can or can't you are totally right!!
